  2. Choose Forwarding Number as the Channel Type

    • A popup window will appear.
    • Under Channel Type, select “Forwarding Number”.
  3. Enter Forwarding Number Details

    • Provide a nickname to help you remember this forwarding number.
    • Enter the phone number you want to forward calls to.
    • Click “Verify” to initiate the verification process.

    Enter forwarding number details

  4. Verify Your Forwarding Number

    • You will receive a call with a verification code.
    • Enter the code within 60 seconds before it expires.
    • Click “Save” once the code is successfully entered.

    Verify forwarding number

  5. Confirm Your Forwarding Number is Active

    • You should see a success message confirming the forwarding number has been added.
    • Navigate back to the Channels List to verify that the new forwarding number appears with a status = Active.

Using Your Forwarding Number in Call Routes

Now that your forwarding number is active, you can use it in Call Routes to forward calls to another phone number (See How to Configure Twilio Call Routes). Additionally, you can select this number as the outbound caller ID when making calls through the Twilanswer dialer (See How to Dial Outbound Twilio Calls).
